THE DETAILS

Escrow & Transfer Policy

Effective date: October 29, 2026

This policy explains domain delivery for transactions coordinated through Ripe Domains, operated by Ripe Domains LLC. Each purchase requires an agreement identifying the actual seller, buyer, domain, included assets, price, fees, payment method, and delivery conditions. A signed transaction-specific agreement controls over this general policy where they conflict, subject to mandatory law. Escrow.com is the only supported escrow provider. Its terms govern its services and release procedures. Buyer-selected providers and alternative escrow services are not accepted.

Before payment
Confirm the exact domain spelling and extension, included assets, registrar, available transfer method, known transfer restrictions, fee allocation, and any installment conditions. An inquiry, offer, or payment instruction alone does not reserve a domain or create a completed sale. Do not send funds before the agreement and payment route are confirmed.

Payment verification
Transfer begins only after the agreed payment condition is satisfied: Escrow.com confirms funding and authorizes the transfer under its rules. Screenshots, buyer-supplied receipts, browser redirects, and unverified emails are not proof of payment. We may pause a transaction for reasonable fraud, identity, sanctions, or authority checks, subject to the agreement and applicable law.

Escrow.com
Escrow.com is the only supported escrow provider. Its verified platform, transaction terms, inspection requirements, release procedures, and dispute process apply. Ripe Domains LLC is not an escrow agent. Neither party should confirm receipt or acceptance before the applicable delivery requirements are met.

Transfer method and timing
A domain may be moved between accounts at the same registrar or transferred to another registrar when permitted. The buyer must provide accurate receiving-account details, complete registrar requirements, and respond to required approvals. Transfer codes and approvals are provided only through an agreed channel after the payment condition is satisfied. Neither party should request the other’s account password or two-factor authentication code.

Registrar, registry, and applicable ICANN rules may restrict or delay transfers, including restrictions associated with recent registrations, transfers, changes of registrant, disputes, or account status. A transfer to another registrar may be unavailable even when another permitted delivery route exists. Any alternative method requires agreement. Time estimates are estimates, not guaranteed completion dates unless expressly agreed.

Completion and records
Delivery is verified through the applicable registrar and transaction records and, where used, the escrow provider’s process. Records should identify the domain and receiving account and demonstrate that the buyer received the control required by the agreement. Escrow funds are released only under the provider’s applicable conditions. A change to public registration data alone is not the sole test of delivery.

Fees and ongoing responsibilities
The agreement states who pays escrow, registrar transfer, and other transaction fees and applicable taxes. After delivery, the buyer is responsible for renewals, registration information, account security, and ongoing operation unless otherwise agreed. Hosting, email, websites, trademarks, and other assets are not included unless expressly listed.

Installments
Installments require a separate accepted agreement specifying the payment schedule, domain custody and control, permitted use, renewals, default notices and cure rights, termination, and any refund or retention terms. No installment arrangement is implied by this policy. Any lender or financing provider may have separate terms.

Problems, cancellation, and refunds
Report a problem promptly through the contact form on this site or Hello@RipeDomains.com. If escrow is involved, also follow its reporting deadlines and dispute procedure. If delivery cannot be completed because the seller lacks the ability or authority to transfer the agreed domain, the buyer is entitled to return of the domain purchase price paid, with the mechanism handled through the payment or escrow provider where applicable. Other fees, cancellations, delays, and remedies follow the agreement, provider terms, and mandatory law. This policy does not permit unilateral forfeiture of buyer funds or waive nonwaivable rights. A completed transfer is generally final, subject to contractual remedies and applicable law.

Fraud prevention
Independently verify unexpected changes to payment or receiving-account instructions using a previously verified contact method. Do not rely on a link or new phone number in the message requesting the change. Use the payment or escrow provider’s authentic platform and report suspicious instructions before acting.
